According to a report from NFL Network, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's game that could sideline him for several weeks.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said at his press conference Monday that he expects Watson to be “most likely out for at least a week or so.”

The coach suspected Watson had an ankle sprain after Sunday's game. NFL Network reported Monday that Watson has a sprained upper ankle and is expected to be placed on the injured list, forcing him to miss the next four games.

That would put Watson on track to return for a home game against the Detroit Lions in early November.

“I think we’ll know more in the next few days,” LaFleur said. “I expect he will most likely be out for at least a week or so.”

The injury occurred late in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. Watson was the target of a pass from Jordan Love over the middle that was intercepted by Kamu Grugier-Hill. As Grugier-Hill dived for the ball, Watson's left foot became trapped under Grugier-Hill.
